2016 Buying Advice from Freestyll "The slim design of the iPad Air is still as attractive as ever, so if you want all the cool look of the latest iPad, but don’t need to indulge in heavy graphics or gaming then this is perfect iPad for you. This currently represents the best value ipad for power users"
The most radical redesign seen on the iPad combined the super fast Apple A7 processor meant the iPad Air blasts other tablets of similar display size out of the water.
Slimmer and lighter than ever before, with improved camera and beautiful, crystal-clear Retina Display saw Apple maintain their clear dominance on the tablet market.
The sleek, slimline design of the iPad Air made it the most attractive full size tablet on the market, while its huge reduction in weight from previous full size iPad's (22% lighter) make it seem featherlight in comparison. The super-slim (7.5mm), 100% recyclable device manages to incorporate the same amazing 9.7" Retina Display seen on the previous model, however smaller screen bezel and thinner components help make the iPad Air a much easier to use device without losing anything that made the previous models special.
Apple A7 processor
The Apple A7 dual-core, 1.3GHz Cyclone (ARM v8-based) processor helps make the iPad Air that bit nippier than its predecessors, through the improved PowerVR G6430 quad-core graphics processor; from day-to-day tasks to the most intensive gaming. The A7 chip, which is also found on the iPhone 5s, is slightly optimised for the iPad Air featuring a metal heat spreader and better thermal management than before.
The clear 5MP iSight rear-facing camera of the previous model remains, however there are improvements on the video features of the 1.2MP HD front-facing FaceTime camera. The iPad Air's FaceTime camera is capable of shooting a crisp video in 720p HD, this along with the incorporated back-illumination made the iPad Air the most capable iPad yet for simple snaps or chatting with your friends face-to-face.
9.7" Retina Display
The glorious 9.7" Retina Display was one of the best things about the previous iPad models so it's no surprise this remains for the iPad Air. This combined with the added power meant the iPad reinforced its position as smoothest, clearest screen screen on the market.
