How to Solve 100% of iPad/iPhone issues...

Posted by Hakeem Shittu on

Apple devices are probably one of the most issue-free devices you will ever purchase/gifted but when you have a "minor" problem with one, hair pulling and nail biting starts :(

These are some of the easy and stress-free fixes for probably all issues you will face with iPad/iPhone.

1. Revert from iOS 11 beta to iOS 10

This is the solution to iOS 11 issues. Whatever is happening to your iPhone/iPad after upgrading to iOS 11, this is the only solution you will need, It's time to stop worrying, your iDevice will be back to life in 30 minutes* :)

You have to simply revert to iOS 10 before the main issue-free version of iOS 11 is released later this year.

The process for doing this is also simple as all you need is your PC/Mac and internet. Follow the steps below.

1. Go to www.ipsw.me

2. Find your iPhone or iPad and select it

3. You will see a list of signed firmware's in GREEN

4. Select one of the firmwares and click download

5. The firmwares download speed will be dependent on your internet speed, wait for the file to download

6. Open iTunes, connect the USB end of your iDevice to the computer

7. Connect the lightning end of your iDevice to your iPhone/iPad and the computer might at this point ask if you want to update or restore the iDevice (depending on the current state of your iDevice) MOST IMPORTANT BIT

7a. IF YOU ARE MAC USER, USE THIS

HOLD DOWN ALT AND THEN CLICK RESTORE, POINT TO THE FILE DOWNLOADED IN STEP 4 ABOVE AND WAIT FOR THE RESTORE TO COMPLETE

7b. IF YOU ARE WINDOWS USER

HOLD DOWN SHIFT AND THEN CLICK RESTORE, POINT TO THE FILE DOWNLOADED IN STEP 4 ABOVE AND WAIT FOR THE RESTORE TO COMPLETE

8. If the computer did not show any pop up, simply Hold the Home and Power Button until the iPad Power off, Take your finger off the power button but NOT the home button and the PC/MAC should tell you the device is in recovery mode, Now follow step 7a or 7b above.

2. Forgotten your Passcode/iPad Disabled

This is probably the most used iTunes function as it solve the most basic and any advanced issues you might have with your iPad.

Required Tool: iPad/iPhone, USB cable for your iPad/iPhone, Computer with internet access, patience!

The process can sometimes look a bit tricky but it is probably the easiest and most straight forward process out there. The following is a step by step instruction including issues that could arise at each point of the process. Any step you see with asterisk * identifies process that might look trick but they are essentially NOT!

1. Turn Off your iPhone/iPad

2. Open iTunes or (Use Apple Configurator (available in Appstore) if you are a macOS user, significantly easier)

3. Connect the USB end of your iPad/iPhone to the Computer *(Please do not connect your phone to the other end; if you have done this, just unplug your phone from the computer and switch it off)

4. Now Hold the HOME button and simultaneously connect the other end of the USB cable to the iPad/iPhone. Keep holding the HOME button until you see a pop -up on the computer

5. Choose the RESTORE option on the computer and follow the on-screen instruction to start the software download *(Top Right Corner of iTunes)

6. The RESTORE process is dependent on the speed of your internet.

 3. iPad/iPhone not Functioning well

This is probably the most common issue anyone with an iDevice will encounter at some point and it is the quite easy to fix.

Most people will suggest a simple switch off and on will do the trick but the following method guarantees a more efficient and clean method to get your iPad/iPhone back to working quickly.

From either on or off position, Hold the Power Button and Home Button simultaneously together for a few seconds without releasing it. You will see the iPad/iPhone will switch on, then the screen will go blank and after few seconds, the iPad/iPhone will then come back on, then you can release the button. Wait for the device to get back to the Home screen and everything should be back to normal for you.

4. iPad won't turn on/Not Charging

An issue that I seem to be coming across every now and again is users not being able to get their iDevice on after the iPad/iPhones ran out of charge.

The most important factor in solving this issue is knowing that you are not alone and the solution is right next to you without you knowing.

For an iPhone, simple plugging into the computer USB might do the trick but I will suggest using a USB wall plug like one in the picture below.

iPhone Wall Plug

The main reason for this is that the amount of current going into the iPhone through the computer USN port is significantly less than the iPhone receives through the Wall Plug.

On the other hand, for you to solve this problem with an iPad, you will need either the 10W or 12W Charger from Apple or certified retailer like the one pictured below. Using the iPhone Charger above or your computer USB port will not bring your iPad back to life.

iPad Charger

It might take a couple of minutes for the iPad to charge up but you just have to leave it for about an hour before trying anything else.
